WandaVision’s honest trailer satirizes everything about the Marvel series, from its portrayal of heartbreak to failed fan theories about Mephisto.
WandaVision eventually received the Honest Trailer treatment, making fun of not only the series’ journey, but its fans who were too carefully looking for clues to Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Describing WandaVision like “A TV show on some TV show on some TV show that’s a TV show watched by the characters of a TV show,” the ScreenJunkies video began. The trailer then goes on to explain how vague Wanda and Vision’s romance was in the MCU.
However, the trailer complimented the couple’s love, deeming it “Marvel’s closest thing to a healthy relationship, though [Wanda’s] torturing a small town with his mind. “
Then the trailer evokes the formula structure of WandaVision episodes, in which Wanda and Vision “cosplay through some of the most delicious sitcoms in history” while Vision, despite being an advanced synthezoid, only occasionally realizes that something is wrong.
Additionally, the trailer highlighted the series’ use of sitcom archetypes like Monica Rambeau playing the “black trope best friend.” The satirical trailer also acknowledged how WandaVisionThe season finale ended with a CGI battle against a ray of sky – similar to previous MCU movies. However, the trailer records its biggest taunt for Marvel fans and comic book websites like CBR who predicted theories about WandaVision that never happened, like the non-inclusion of Mephisto or the casting of Evan Peters as Pietro being a link to Fox X Men universe.
While many supernatural WandaVision fan theories were incorrect, the series received immense critical acclaim as the first Marvel Studios series to debut on Disney +.
Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be the next Marvel series to debut on Disney +. The series director recently confirmed that the show takes place six months after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Similar to WandaVision, his series will release episodes on a weekly basis. LokI, Hawk Eye and Ms. Marvel The series centered on Sam Wilson / Bucky Barnes will follow.
