Foreign sources quoted people aware of the case by saying that the company was discussing with the banks the issue of financing the transaction. Potential buyers or consortia can bid for the company.
Gaochun Capital and KKR declined to comment. China said it would not comment on rumors or speculation in the market.
McDonald's, an American fast-food restaurant, sold its Hong Kong-based company last year to a consortium led by CITIC (00267) for a price of 2.08 billion US dollars ( approximately HK $ 16.14 billion).
