Orbis launched a rescue operation in Linyi, Shandong Province, in June 2011. On the one hand, she operated ophthalmology patients, on the other hand, she strengthened the surgical capabilities of local ophthalmologists, for a total of 117 patients. A local medical staff member was trained and Dr. Li Yourong, former president of the Hong Kong Institute of Ophthalmology, also participated.

There are 110 million diabetic patients in China, about 25% of whom are in the upper eye. He pointed out that the doctor's experience is very important because the related surgery is more complicated. However, local authorities generally only allow the use of more qualified doctors, which means that many young doctors lack experience and limit the risk of undergoing surgery. As a specialist in eye surgery, Dr. Li has treated many cases of eye diabetes and hopes to break with tradition by involving local doctors in the surgery.

He believes that local doctors study a lot but lack professional knowledge. Even with new instruments, no one knows how to use them, and even today they use sputum for surgery from the back of the eye.

Recalling the case selection process, he was a bit sad: "There must be no one, even if the patient is hanged, but he has to refuse."

In addition to Dr. Li, two students from the Hong Kong University School of Medicine, Yang Yipei and Qian Kaiyao, also participated in the translation. They started studying ophthalmological names and surgical procedures as early as a month before departure, and recorded more than a hundred proper names. Yang Zhi, the deepest is the gratitude of the local people. Some patients have completed the operation and have not opened their eyes, they must catch up with the medical staff. The money means that the most memorable is to see that children with strabismus have changed immediately after the surgery.

The project lasted three weeks, and specialists from around the world first reviewed emergency cases and special cases before proceeding with surgery. During this period, a "practical" training will be provided: the specialists will be the surgeons, the local doctors will be the badistants and the local doctors will be distributed to other local doctors and invited to ask questions at any time.

8 adults from Linyi City lived in remote areas, most of them could not afford the eye exams and needed treatment, and the shortage of medical staff prompted the local government to invite Orbis to carry out the project. A total of 117 patients were operated on and approximately 620 local health workers were trained, including ophthalmologists, nurses, biotechnology staff and anesthesiologists.
