The Department of Customs and Excise (11 July) seized approximately 26,000 kilograms of Guatemalan rosewood in a container at the Kwai Chung Customs Inspection Site, whose market value was estimated at about $ 1 million.

Customs officers inspected a container from Guatemala through a risk badessment. After inspection, the customs officers found the lot of wood in the container.

The case was forwarded to the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation for further action.
