A 13-year-old Texas girl died after falling into a coma as a result of a fight with two teenage girls who had jumped on her as she walked home – there including an assailant who had kicked him in the head, said the girl's mother.
Kashala Francis, a student of Attucks College in Houston, died Wednesday morning at Texas Children's Hospital, where doctors discovered a tumor on the back of the head that may have been exacerbated by the brawl at which she had been mixed on Thursday afternoon. Grandma Jackson told ABC's KTRK-TV in Houston.
An autopsy has not yet been revealed if the wounds resulting from the fighting caused Kashala's death or died as a result of the tumor, police said.

Victor Senties, a spokesman for the Houston Police Department, said the incident was under investigation as a homicide, while waiting for the police to investigate the incident. 39, an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
"Until the autopsy is over, we will not know," Senties told ABC News on Wednesday.
He stated that no arrests had been made and refused to disclose further details of the investigation.
"I can see these girls hit her in the head while other kids are making fun of her," Jackson told KTRK about a video showing that her daughter had been hit with shots punch and foot.
In the video, at least one of the girls fighting with Kashala can be heard laughing.

The Houston Independent School District officials issued a statement in which they said they were aware of "the off-campus altercation" and cooperate with the Houston police department as part of its investigation.
Kashala's death follows a similar incident in Walterboro, South Carolina, where fifth-year Raniya Wright died on March 27 after a fight with a classmate. On Friday, South Carolina's lawyer refused to file a complaint because a medical examiner had determined that Raniya had a rare congenital anomaly, an arteriovenous malformation, which had killed her.
Jackson said that her daughter had been jumped two steps from her school by two girls Thursday as she was walking home.

She said that when Kashala came home from school on Thursday afternoon, she had bruises in her face, but claimed that she was fine.
On Saturday, Kashala briefly appeared to be illusory by spending the night at a family member's house and said he was complaining of severe headaches when he woke up Sunday, Jackson told KTRK.
"I went by car and I told her to get up." I said: "Get up, Kashala." She kept saying, "Mom, j & rsquo; I have a headache, "so she's lying down," Jackson said.
She said that a few moments later, her daughter had fainted and that she had called 911.
Paramedics took the girl to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, where she went into a coma.
Jackson said that while treating his daughter, the doctors found the tumor in his head.
"We found out that she had a big tumor in the back of her head and a build-up of fluid in her brain," Jackson said.
It was too early to tell if the fight in which Kalesha was involved had contributed to his death.
