When the Warriors bought D & # 39; Angelo Russell, All-Star team goalkeeper, among the Nets during a signing exchange this season, general manager Bob Myers knew a lot more about the player than on the person.

Russell and Myers recently met in New York, and the GM asked his new guard tough questions about his troubled past as a Laker.
He said, "In hindsight, maybe I was not ready for what was going to happen in LA with choice # 2." Many people would blame everyone and say it was not my fault, which, I think, showed a maturity, "said Myers at the TK Show.
Russell was involved in a public incident as a rookie with the Lakers, where he recorded a video on Snapchat of teammate Nick Young, confessing that he cheated on his fiancée, Iggy Azalea. Although only in the NBA for four seasons, the Russell Road has been long.
Since it was drafted in 2015, Russell has been under pressure from choice number two in North America, with the Young incident lawsuit, traded in Brooklyn, becoming All-Star and now joining the Warriors.
"For a guy who's new to the league, he's gone through more than anything I can say," said Myers. "Be a great choice, go to the Lakers, be moved, go to Brooklyn … as he has managed, helping them get on, somehow taking flight."

Russell took advantage of his playoff season last season, scoring 21.1 points and 7 assists per game. Any general manager would be happy to add that to his list. After talking with Russell, Myers could not be happier.
"I'm happier now than I was even when we did, knowing more about who he really is," Myers said.
