How Doug Baldwin changed my life and influenced my family

Truth: Without Doug Baldwin and his commitment to excel in his job, my family would not be what it is today.

I could highlight other players, but for now, I want to talk about Doug. I was going to work this morning thinking about all the conversations we've had over the years. There was a time when he told me that if I went on the radio, he would help me anyway that he could.

Or by the time my son was in 8th grade and he told me to have him come so that he could work with him. Doug helped my son in the field and even watched a video of his games to give advice.

Yes, I have worked hard over the years, but I was very lucky. I know it. I worked hard while having the chance to clean up cars for young men who were so engaged in what they did that they won a Super Bowl. They motivated the guy from the car wash station to do more with his life.

There is no way that my son is moving towards the Ohio State to play football without the inspiration of being big – an example given by them.

I've been cleaning the vehicles of Seahawks players for nine years before Doug's arrival. But three years after I met him, as well as other people, my life changed.

The point is – I'm grateful. And I pray to be engaged enough in something to help another family in the same way that Doug Baldwin helped mine.
