How Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik are going to part ways with “Jeopardy! »Hosting tasks

Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik will share reception duties on Danger! for the rest of the year, it was revealed.

Mike Richards, the former executive producer of the syndicated quiz show, announced last month that he was stepping down as host, just nine days after being unveiled as a new host.

It filmed a week of episodes before its release, so Richards is currently on screens featuring the first batch of shows for Season 38.

In a post shared on the official website Danger! Twitter account on Thursday, it was announced that Bialik and Jennings will be following him.

The tweet read, “I don’t know if you’ve heard, but @missmayim and @kenjennings are hosting me until the end of the year. All staff are supermunar.”

A follow-up post offered more details on how the two would share the work: “Starting Monday, September 20, Bialik is hosting several weeks of episodes, which will air until November 5. After that, Bialik and Jennings share accommodation duties as their schedules allow until the end of the calendar year. “

The post was also shared on the show’s official website, along with the biographies of actress and neuroscientist Bialik and all-time Danger! champion Jennings.

Richards’ appointment as the successor to beloved Alex Trebek, who died late last year, came after a months-long search for a new presenter and a rotating group of famous guest hosts trying the post.

This run started with Jennings in January and ended with Joe Buck in August, with the likes of Robin Roberts, Katie Couric, Aaron Rodgers, Anderson Cooper, LeVar Burton and Buzzy Cohen in between.

When Richards was named the show’s new permanent host in August, it was also announced that The Big Bang Theory the star Bialik would present Danger! specials and tournaments.

Days after the announcement, however, reports resurfaced that models accused Richards of discriminatory behavior while he was a producer on The price is right.

Starting Monday, September 20, Bialik is hosting several weeks of episodes, which will air until November 5. After that, Bialik and Jennings will share the hosting duties according to their schedules until the end of the calendar year.

Next is a devastating article in The Ringer, detailing a series of offensive comments he made while hosting a podcast between 2013 and 2014.

As the backlash raged, he apologized, but quickly had to comply with the demands of his resignation as host.

Things got worse for Richards when, less than two weeks later, Sony Pictures Television announced that he was also executive producer of Danger! and Wheel of Fortune.

Suzanne Prete, executive vice president of business and strategy, announced Richards’ departure in a message to staff members that Sony shared with News week.

Prete said, “I am writing to let you know that Mike will no longer be the EP for Wheel and Jeopardy! As of now.

“We were hoping that when Mike stepped down as host at Jeopardy! It would have minimized the disruption and internal difficulties that we have all experienced in recent weeks. It clearly did not happen.”
