Have the Redskins emerged as favorites to land Josh Rosen? It starts to appear like this.
All indications are that the Cardinals are taking quarterback Kyler Murray of Oklahoma with first overall pick in the NFL 2019 Draft later this month. If this happens, there is no reason for Arizona to keep Rosen on the list.
This means that the cards must move their first round 2018, without much weight.
Enter the Redskins, a team with a long-term hole at QB. Washington wants to add a young smuggler, but his current financial commitment to injured Alex Smith makes it difficult.
Rosen would be perfect because the Cardinals have already received his signature bonus and that he owed less than $ 2 million for the 2019 season.
Murray's speculation in Arizona began to grow at the NFL Scouting Combine in February, and rumors of Rosen in Washington began almost immediately afterwards. They did not slow down.

For months, sources in Redskins Park have made it clear that their first-round pick was not tied to a Rosen bid. But do not exclude a set of choices spread over two seasons, such as a second round of 2019 and a third round of 2020 and an additional late pick one season or the other.
For the Redskins, Rosen could present the rare intersection of value and talent.
For the Cardinals to move Rosen, it means that they have lost considerable weight as the team prepares with a new QB. All NFL teams know this and, in turn, Arizona will not be fully rewarded for its investment in the 2018 10th overall pick.
Rosen was not good as a rookie last year, but that does not mean that he will not be good. And in Washington, he will not have the pressure to start right away, as the team has Case Keenum and Colt McCoy to fight for the starting quarter for 2019.
Rosen to the Redskins is far from a fait accompli.
But as long as Washington retains its 15th choice in 2019, it's the contract that makes the most sense. With four selections from the first 96 selections, the Redskins have the war chest and the need to abandon that move.
Keep in mind, however, the Redskins office usually makes great movements in silence.
There was no reason to believe that the Skins were heading to Alex Smith last year, until that happened. Same thing this year with Case Keenum.
