Extremely simple advice can help you avoid Apex Legends’ drop stun and bring down (literally) any enemy team, no matter where they are.
The stun applied in Apex Legends when your character falls from a significant height doesn’t do any damage, but it does require you to stop for a second and reset your momentum.
While this isn’t always the case, it can make you an easier target, and in the heat of the moment, it could be the difference between pulling one out for your team or being cut down by the enemy.
How to Avoid Fall Dizziness from Apex
At first, when Respawn’s battle royale first came out in 2019, it was previously possible to negate the stun by simply melting the ground right before hitting it. Your character would kick in and their momentum would be preserved – easy as pie – until Respawn fixes it.
While it’s no longer possible to maintain your momentum by simply hitting the ground, it’s possible to negate the stun by using melee attack in a different way.
Instead of just hitting the ground, hitting a wall or other vertical surface on the way down seems to interrupt your fall and preserve your movement just as well as the previous round.
It’s not even necessarily harder to pull off either, as you can see in the clip below from Reddit user Toyo0821; all you have to do is make melee contact with a perpendicular surface on the way down, and you should be good.
In the event of a fall, you cannot interrupt your fall by hitting or hitting the ground. You can, however, interrupt your fall by hitting a wall or vertical surface instead; of the apexuniversity
Even though the original mechanic from Season 1 was patched by Respawn, many players from this era still instinctively mingle before they hit the ground anyway. In that case, it would be pretty straightforward to keep doing that, but just aim for walls and the like on the way down.
The benefits of doing this during a shootout are obvious, but it can also help you stay on your toes between fights.
So, while he’s still around, there’s no reason not to practice doing it mindlessly if you want to improve your skills.
