Generation 6 has arrived in Pokmon Go!
the Kalos Celebration Event Research Quest is a timed research quest that celebrates the release of Generation 6 in Pokémon Go!
This research quest will challenge you to hunt down and catch the new Gen 6 Pokémon for a variety of rewards, including Mega Energy for multiple Pokémon.
You will also be able to collect a number of field research tasks exclusive to the Kalos Celebration event, which will not only help you complete the timed research, but also add entries to the Kalos section of your Pokédex.

Below are all of the Kalos Celebration Event Research Quest challenges and rewards. Be careful though, because this section contains spoilers, therefore, if you prefer to be surprised, we recommend that you skip this section.
It’s also important to remember that the Kalos Celebration Event Research will only be available during the Kalos Celebration Event, and once that event is over, that Research Quest will disappear and never return. This means that if you want any of the rewards listed below, you must complete these challenges before the event ends.

Celebration season has arrived! It comes with an increase in the level cap – including the addition of XL Candy, the Legacy 40 Challenge quest and improvements to some XP sources – Platinum Medals, the arrival of Generation 6 Pokémon such as Espurr and the changes to the Go Battle League saw the addition of “weird” red eggs and new Arlo, Cliff, Sierra and Giovanni line-ups.
Field research tasks and everything you need to know about the Kalos Celebration event in Pokémon Go
Throughout the Kalos Celebration event in Pokémon Go, you will be able to collect a number of exclusive Field Research Quests from rotating PokéStops. These tasks can be saved and completed after the event is over, but you can only collect them during the event.
Below are the field research tasks for the Kalos Celebration event:
- Catch 3 Normal-type Pokémon reward – Bunnelby
- Catch 5 Flying-type Pokémon award – Fletchling
- Catch 7 fire type Pokémon Reward – Litleo

Besides the Field Research Quests and the Timed Research Quest, the obvious reason to participate in the Kalos Celebration event is that Gen 6 has been released in Pokémon Go!
During this event, you’ll be able to fight Generation 6 Pokémon in raids, such as Espurr, and possibly even hatch one in an egg, as a number of Generation 6 Pokémon are now permanent items in egg pools.
Gen 6 Pokémon also have an improved spawn rate throughout the Kalos Celebration event:

- Bunnelby

Kalos Celebration Event Dates and Times in Pokémon Go Explained
The Kalos Celebration event celebrates the release of Generation 6 in Pokémon Go and kicks off the celebration season on a high note.
The Kalos Celebration Event Research Quest and Exclusive Field Research Tasks are only available during this event, which Wednesday, December 2, starting at 10 a.m. (local time), until Tuesday, December 8, ending at 10 p.m. (local time).
The Kalos Celebration Event Research Quest consists of six quests, with rewards for each individual challenge and Global Quest Stage. If you want to earn all of these rewards, you need to make sure you complete the Quest for the Kalos Celebration Event before the event itself ends, because like all Timed Research, the questline will disappear with the event.
