How to do a 12-man raid in ‘Destiny 2’, possibly his biggest problem yet

Well, there’s a new exploit circulating in Destiny 2, and it’s time to try it out before it’s patched. Before I start yelling at me to talk about it, I know for a fact that Bungie is good already aware of this (a lot of major streamers have done this), so a fix is ​​probably in the works. But until then, it’s time to have some fun.

What is happening? The way it works is you can have:

  • 7 to 12 fire brigade teams during raids.
  • 4-9 fire teams in dungeons and night falls.

I believe this was discovered a week or two ago, but it only seems to be doing the trick now. How do you do? Here is Cheese Forever talking about the tactics if you want to see a video about it, but I’ll explain below,

In short, you need a team of firefighters to join another at zero seconds when an activity kicks off. It’s easier to do on PC with join codes, and you just need to cut down on the time. For a 12-person raid, for example, you need to have a six-person team join another six-person team with a single invite, which if properly timed, will draw the entirely separate group of six into the raid for a total of 12..

The same goes for Nightfalls and Dungeons, only the cap is 9, as you can only start it with a team of three. And that can be done by fewer players of course, if you just want a fourth person with it or something. Again, it’s just a matter of timing. This can working on console, it’s just harder to time and run due to lack of login codes, but you can accept invites or sign up from the list. You want to time it in order to join a bit before the activity starts, because it takes a short time to join, if you are trying to reach that “Join at zero” mark. If you’ve got an overabundance of people in orbit, you’re too early. If you can’t get started, you are too late.

This tactic, of course, makes all of these activities a cakewalk, but it’s not as if the current raids this hard to get started so I don’t think it hurts much. It’s not like it’s breaking a raid race or people exploiting GM Nightfalls breeding for insane rewards. That said, I don’t expect this ability to stick around indefinitely, so if you want to try it out for yourself, you’re probably better off trying it out pretty quickly before a patch goes live.

So yeah, just a fun thing to experience. I would love to see Destiny increase its player count and fire team size in the future, as I imagine things like loading 12 people for an Altars of Sorrow or (unvaulted) Escalation Protocol public event, or else sure, Bungie designing a raid meant to be for 12 people in the first place. I don’t think that’s likely to happen, but if not, we can just see how it might turn out with this feat (spoiler: it’s crazy). Enjoy.
