How to enable cross-backup with your Destiny 2 data

[ad_1]

Bungie has activated the long-awaited cross-save function for Destiny 2which means you can finally move your guardians, with all their loot, to a different platform and navigate freely between the console and the PC. Here's how to proceed, whether you want to transfer your account data between a PC and a PS4, an Xbox One and a PS4, or even (in the future) a PC and a Stadia.

First, you need to keep in mind some important warnings before enabling cross-save activation for your account:

  • For now, you will have to redeem the base game for use on other platforms. Of course, this will not be the case once Destiny 2: new light, the free version of the game, is released on October 1 (the same day as the new Shadow guard expansion). So, you might just want to wait until then.
  • In either case, you will have to redeem the game extensions for any additional platform you want to play on if you want to access the activities of these extensions, such as forging for. Black Armory or the respective raid of each extension. You do not have to buy extensions to use all Crucible-specific expansion equipment and subclasses and other basic activities.
  • In addition, any Silver (Destiny 2The currency paid in the game) that you have already purchased will remain locked on your original platform and will not be transferable. So, you may want to use your money before transferring your saved data.

(Note: PC players who switch from Battle.net to Steam are the exception, Bungie offers a one-time money transfer, annual pass, development, and all the rest of the account.)

  • If you play already Destiny 2 on two platforms, activating cross-backup means that the keepers of one of these platforms will be overwritten. However, Bungie says in her FAQ that cross-backup can be disabled if you want to recover your old characters. If you disable cross-save, you will have to wait 90 days before you can reactivate it.

And cross-backup can not be disabled on the PC platform. The move from Battle.net to Steam is irreversible since Destiny 2 will soon be removed from the list on Battle.net.

How to enable cross-save

  • Go to the Bungie's Cross-Save login page. You want to log in first with the platform on which you have your main account. Destiny 2 (with your favorite Keepers) related data, whether it's PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net or Steam.
  • Then, sign in to the account on the platform (s) on which you want to extend your account. For example, if you start with a PS4 and add an Xbox One account, you will sign in to your PlayStation account first, and then to your Xbox account.

  • In my case, my backup is associated with the Battle.net client on a PC and I wish to play on Steam (with my account in tow) when the game migrates on October 1st. My first and last step is to log in to my Steam account on Bungie's "PC Move" page.
  • It should be noted that PC players can play on Battle.net until October 1st. And console players who choose to enable cross-backup to transfer their data from a PS4 or Xbox One to Battle.net can also do so. However, you will have to wear it again this time on Steam before October 1st.

  • Regardless of which platform you go to, Bungie is doing due diligence by repeatedly asking you if you really want to enable cross-backup. He also asks you to accept the terms describing what Bungie will do with your data and to state that you give it to the company.

  • Shortly after your approval, you will be able to access your account from the new platforms, provided you have purchased Destiny 2 play on them. When you sign in to your Bungie Online account, you will be able to easily see which platforms have access to which content. As you can see in the photo above, Bungie provides on its website useful links to buy the extensions and the annual pass.
