And not to be outdone, Apple fans can also save a lot of money on refurbished iPhones.

These prices are for the base models of both phones (128 GB) and can choose from Cloud Blue and Cosmic Gray colors for the S20; or the colors Cloud Blue, Cosmic Gray or Cosmic Black for the S20 +.

I would say either is a solid choice if you want a high-end product (if it’s subject to a bit of software bloat) that’s still a reasonable size – and provided you don’t have no need for a stylus for anything. As for those iPhones, go to Woot to see the full listings. You’ll find refurbished iPhones ranging from iPhone 7 to iPhone XR and XS. In other words, 2- to 4-year-old iPhones with potential cosmetic damage – a fact that shouldn’t really matter once you’ve slapped it in a protective case. If you can, aim for the iPhone XS or iPhone XRbecause they’ll be a bit more future-proof than the older iPhone 7 (although $ 150 for an iPhone isn’t bad at all).

And yes, Woot’s offers beat Apple’s repackaged ads. For example, you can buy a refurbished iPhone XS directly from Apple for $ 640. That same setup, when selling a day of Woot, is only $ 430. Not bad, but there is a caveat; it seems that Woot phones do not offer any warranty on the battery condition, beyond that they have at least an 85% load. As someone who dealt with an iPhone X’s decaying battery – and the bottom line performance issues– I wouldn’t be happy to get anything other than new battery in my new iPhone.
Tthis is part of the reason why Apple’s refurbished iPhones cost more – they come with one year warranty (like brand new iPhone) and a brand new battery. Sure Woot, you get a 90 day limited warranty and a battery that has been tested, but may be in less than this peak condition. On the plus side, you can still try the iPhone and, if you hate it, return it within 30 days.
