Warzone players encourage all Call of Duty players to boycott the purchase of skins and packs in the store in response to recent Activision Blizzard Warzone lawsuit and constant hacking.
It’s been a troubling time for Call of Duty and its respective titles – Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, CoD: Mobile, and Modern Warfare. Activision Blizzard’s ongoing lawsuit has had an impact on the franchise, and fans are calling on other players to stop buying products from the CoD store in protest.
This includes everything from skins and operator packs to the Seasonal Battle Pass. Warzone players cite the lawsuit, the “empty updates” and hackers as the driving force behind this movement.
The lawsuit directly concerns a “suspected toxic workplace” and even led to a complete walkout of employees in response to the unfortunate situation.
Added to this is the supposedly empty spate of updates “full of microtransactions to milk gamers,” and the ever-growing threat from hackers, and gamers have apparently had enough.
Reddit user Jaszs led the charge saying, “I’m writing this as someone who’s played all of them. Single. COD from COD2, and WZ from day 1 until yesterday, and also a former Blizzard fan. Yeah, I know it might sound bad, but based on what’s going on (lawsuits for sexual harassment, repression and abuse of their employees…) I really think these guys don’t deserve anything from us, their customers.
“You can even keep playing the game if you want to (there are some great alternatives out there; if you need them just ask in the comments!), Don’t spend any money on their store. Either way, you also have to remember that these are the same guys releasing empty updates full of microtransactions in order to milk players, releasing the same game over and over again and not worrying about the growing number of hackers. . “
The very passionate statement has received over 300 comments and counts, and it is universally in favor of boycotting the Activision store ahead of the launch of Warzone Season 5.

At the time of writing, the post has nearly 1.8,000 upvotes and is growing. Given that Warzone’s player count far exceeds that, it’s hard to imagine this boycott would do too much damage.
Conversely, Sledgehammer Games producer Alayna Cole tweeted an important message regarding the circumstances.
The boycott of the Activision store will have a clear ripple effect in terms of turnover, and will eventually disrupt the salaries and jobs of many employees who are not involved in this lawsuit.
