The IO developer makes this possible by making these respective level sets available as DLC, with each game or expansion having an “Access Pass”. If you have purchased a Hitman game or a previous DLC, you will be granted access to the Access Pass corresponding to that game. If you don’t – say if you are new to the Hitman series with this third instillment – then you can buy them in the store.

These are the basics of how it works – of course, between digital and physical versions as well as different editions over the years, the process can get a little complicated to import everything. The main things to note are:

• If you import original Hitman levels either digitally or on disc, make sure you have imported them into Hitman 2, by unlocking the “Legacy Edition” in that game first. How to carry over your progress from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3

While postponing progress seems less urgent than sorting out your levels and previous game purchases, it is arguably more important, as it means you continue all of the unlocks and experience you earn in Hitman 2, including levels. of the original Hitman played in this sequel.

Doing this after you start playing Hitman 3 will overwrite any progress you have made, so it is recommended to do this before starting. It’s also something you can prepare before playing the game – useful if you’re waiting for your download to finish.

To transfer your progress from Hitman 2 to Hitman 3, you need to visit this official website, log into your IO account and follow the instructions. Although the game asks you to do this the first time you play Hitman 3 and open the website in the game, feel free to do it on another device – such as a phone or computer – if you prefer.

Note that progression only continues within this platform family (PlayStation to PlayStation, Xbox to Xbox, PC to PC) and because of this you cannot advance into the Switch version (which is technically the first on this platform).

Also, be aware that while the progress of the original Hitman will not be carried over, everything played in Hitman 2 – including Legacy Hitman 1 levels played in the sequel – will be carried over, as it is part of that Hitman 2 profile. .

Finally, know that you can only do this once. Practically this means that if you keep playing Hitman 2 any further progress made in this game cannot be carried over.
