How to play Xbox One games on your Windows PC

Xbox One consoles and Microsoft Windows 10 computers work pretty well together. So good, in fact, that you can stream Xbox One games on your PC.

Why would you do that? Maybe because you prefer your monitor to your TV. Or maybe your Xbox One is on the other side of the house and you just want to stream streaming to your wireless PC instead of buying a 30 meter HDMI cable to physically connect the two.

One disadvantage is that, unlike the Play Play 4 and PS of PlayStation 4, two features that allow you to stream content from anywhere, the Xbox One console and the PC must be on the same network. Still, it's a pretty cool thing. You need to follow a few simple steps to get your console feeds sent to your PC.

Use the Xbox Console Companion app

• If you are using a Windows 10 desktop or laptop, the Companion application of the Xbox console is probably already installed. (This application was previously known as the Xbox application, and Microsoft is turning it into a larger game dashboard). You can download the application from the Microsoft Store if it is not already installed on your PC.
• Open the app, then sign in to your Microsoft account (which is also your Xbox account) when it asks you.
• Once you are logged in, click on the menu button at the top left of the Xbox Console Companion application window. He will open a list of items. Click on "Login" at the bottom of the list.

• Click on "Add Device" in the upper middle part of the application window. The application will search for an Xbox One console on your network. Click "Connect" once you have found your console.
• If your console does not appear, enter its IP address in the appropriate field. The IP address of your Xbox One can be accessed by opening the console settings menu and clicking "Network"> "Network Settings"> "Advanced Settings".
• Once you're signed in, your console appears in the "Now Playing" section of the Xbox Console Companion app. Click on it and your PC monitor will show a direct stream of your Xbox One.

Offset correction on a wireless network

When you play on your PC, there may be some delay depending on the speed of your Wi-Fi network. One way to speed up an unstable flow is to use Ethernet, if that's an option. You can also use the Xbox Console Companion application to improve the fidelity of the stream, allowing you to get a faster image, but at the expense of image quality.

• To access the drop-down menu, tap the menu button located at the top right of the screen, next to the full-screen button.
• If you want to view the granular details of the stream, such as bit rate, bandwidth usage, etc., click the button that appears near the bottom left of the screen.

I do not use the Xbox Console Companion application on my PC too often, but it's handy when I want to play Xbox at the same time that other people prefer to watch something else on TV.
