Nine years after the release of the first How to train his dragon movie, Jay Baruchel and America FerraraThe races of Hiccup and Astrid, respectively, are coming to an end. But even if The hidden world marks the third and final film of the franchise, it is undeniable that the series has made its mark and has proved to be an important franchise for animation for children and adults.
Hidden world finds Hiccup (Baruchel) a stone's throw from his position in the very first film. He began as a clumsy bastard who could not fight dragons like other children his age, but now he is not only the leader and ruler of Berk, but he is also responsible for the unification of the citizens of Berk with the dragons, thus creating a community of one kind where both can happily coexist. The problem is that their dragon utopia is a little too crowded for the safety of the people. It is therefore up to Hiccup and Toothless to find a new home and it is at this point that Hiccup is interested in finding a hidden mythical world.
With How to train your dragon: the hidden world When I arrived in the halls on February 22, I had the opportunity to talk with Baruchel and Ferrara about how they had imagined adults Hiccup and Astrid when they first registered and how it compares to what we see in this last installment, the legacy of the series, and watching Dean DeBlois get the rare opportunity to complete an animated trilogy as a director. You can hear about all this and more in the video interview at the top of this article.
