Gems settings
The settings menu itself is a mine of fun things, if you're ready to dig. First, did you know that you can dim the light of your Dualshock? If you check the "Controller" settings in the "Devices" sub-menu, you will find a setting that allows you to change from "Bright" (default) to "Medium" and "Dimmed". I keep it on. because I like playing in the dark and that the Dualshock looks like a small night light, but if you want to save battery power by reducing the energy that the Dualshock needs, it would be the first place to start.
Second, you can enable custom button assignments from the Accessibility menu. This will allow you to change the buttons to your satisfaction for the console in general, which means you will not have to reassign them for individual games.
Another thing you'll find in the Accessibility menu is the ability to zoom. If you enable this option, you can zoom in on your PS4 screen by pressing the PS button and the square button. This may not be very useful for some, but it's a nice feature that is good to have anyway.
Secrets of the hidden trophy
This is the one that inspired the post of Reddit and disrupted the collective spirit of a few thousand users (judging by the positive votes). If you post the information page on a hidden trophy (which is usually hidden because they are spoiling something about the story or the game), you can go to the square to reveal all that is hidden about of the trophy.
And those of you who are more attentive can say, "But the button's prompt is there on the screen!" And you would be right.
But if you use the console since this feature was added (that is, about three years after the console's release), you will not even bother to view the console. information page on a hidden trophy because you are so used to it that they are … well hidden. Other tips
As a person who had to take screenshots of all these things, this one was particularly useful: you can change the screen capture settings by pressing the Share button (which opens the Share menu ) and access the sharing settings. Under "SHIFT button command type", you can switch between "Standard" and "Easy Screen Captures", which allows you to switch from the "press and hold" button to "press the Share button".
I managed to find this one before finding it on the Reddit feed, but there is a way to switch between your two most recent screens without having to go back to the home menu. If you press the PS button twice, you will automatically access the other recently opened application or game, whether it's trophy information, a chat room or your messages. If you want to use it best by being already in a game, press the PS button once (which will bring you back to your home screen, then open the application of your choice. then twice on the PS button to return to the game. and again to go to the application, etc.
