After subtly teasing new perks in the season 4 reloaded patch, Raven Software officially revealed two exclusive Warzone advantages on the way Season 5.

In a first for the free title, these perks were built from the ground up just for Warzone. They will not appear in Black Ops Cold War as they offer exclusive benefits for the Battle Royale experience.

Combat Scout and Tempered have their own unique abilities that could change just about every major loadout in Warzone today.

Here’s a look at how Warzone’s new perks work.

Warzone Exclusive Benefit: Combat Scout

With Combat Scout, you can shoot enemies and temporarily reveal their location. When dealing damage, enemies are highlighted in bright orange on your screen because a ping is automatically applied to all of your team members.

If you’re in a tough shootout and can’t quite explain things to your team, Combat Scout basically does the job for you. Every enemy you encounter will be automatically revealed for allies to help you.

If your whole squad is equipped with Combat Scout, you will always have as much information as possible when crossing Verdansk or Rebirth Island.

Advantage exclusive to Warzone: Temperate

With Tempered, armor is more effective than ever. Until Season 5, players needed three plates of armor to be fully healthy. Now only 2 armor plates are needed if Tempered is in your gear.

By converting armor values, each plate now absorbs 75 damage with Tempered equipped, up from the usual 50.

It’s worth noting that with Tempered it appears to chew on two Perk slots, not just one.

It is not known whether it falls into the Perk 1 or Perk 3 slot. However, Raven Software has confirmed that it will also cancel all use of the Perk 2 slot, making it a costly investment.
