On "Fox & Friends" on Thursday, Carr said Durham had worked on several prestigious probes, including the FBI's handling of Boston Mafia boss Whitey Bulger and the CIA's handling of terror suspects in custody .

He added that Durham had conducted special investigations under the Attorneys General appointed by Democrats and Republicans.

"It's going to be very difficult to mess with as a supporter," said Carr, pointing out that although Durham is Republican, he was approved by the two Connecticut Democratic Senators when he was appointed by President Trump.

Carr added that Durham's investigation into the origins of the investigation into Russia had already had a "chilling effect" on some members of the Justice Department and the FBI, whose conduct could be blamed .

He referred to former FBI director James Comey, who, according to Carr, "blamed" outgoing deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and others, as well as "on the outside". former FBI attorney James Baker, who corroborated his claim that everything in the investigation of Russia was lawful by adding, "At least on the basis of every information that I have."
