HP Inc. announced this afternoon that Dion Weisler was stepping down as President and CEO. The executive cites a "family health issue" in its decision, noting that he will return home to Australia.
The company already has an aligned successor, its chairman, Enrique Lores, who has obtained unanimous approval from its board of directors. Lores will take first place on November 1st.
"Enrique is an inspiring and proven business leader. He is the ideal person to lead HP into the future. Since the separation, the Board has put in place a continuous and diligent succession planning process that includes auditing and benchmarking of internal and external candidates, "said Chip Bergh, Chair of the Board. administration, in a statement. In the meantime, Weisler is expected to remain on the company's board of directors at HP's next shareholders' meeting to "ensure a seamless transition." HP separated from HP Enterprise.
The history of Lores with society goes back much further. As HP notes, he joined the staff 30 years ago as an engineering trainee.
