You would be forgiven for canceling the case of HTC smart phones. The Pixel 3A that Google has just released was developed by his Taiwanese team, which Google acquired from HTC a year ago. HTC itself is silent on the new flagship products since the U12 Plus from last summer. Well, HTC has shown some small signs of life this week by announcing its release schedule for late updates for Android 9 Pie. The HTC U11 will be updated by the end of May, followed by U12 Plus in June and U11 Plus from the end of June. Owners of other HTC phones probably have no chance.
Once upon a time HTC was among the first Android providers with the latest version of Android, both in terms of updating its existing flagship products and offering in its latest releases. But these years are now well away from us, and the goal of HTC and its future are now resolved: make the virtual reality hardware ecosystem a success. This Android 9 update can probably be considered as a last gesture of goodwill for loyal fans of the company. The newly announced Google's new Android 10 Q will probably not appear on HTC phones, unless someone the immortal HD2.
We want to share the release schedule for Android Pie updates for #HTC smartphones. Please note that deploying certain regions and operators may affect these dates. The deployment of U11s will begin at the end of May 2019; U11 + will start at the end of June 2019; U12 + will start in mid-June 2019. Thank you pic.twitter.com/eyeCdX5qWm
