HTC Unveils 5G Smart Hub for Sprint Lined VR Stream Machine – Droid Life

This week at the MWC, HTC unveiled its 5G Smart Hub for Sprint's 5G network. We knew this was happening only because these two companies had said it until last November.

In summary, this 5G hub connects to Sprint's 5G mobile network. In doing so, it allows users to access increased connectivity speeds and can even replace the WiFi router in your home. However, it is not necessary to stick it in your house. Thanks to a 7.660mAh battery, this thing is portable!

Interestingly, and this is where things go best with HTC, this hub will also serve as a VR streaming box.

This product is also at the forefront of cloud-based virtual reality technology. In the future, users will be able to stream VR content from the cloud to a VIVE Focus headset via the HTC 5G Hub – without a computer or unnecessary cables – to enjoy a high-end mobile VR experience in real time.

F * ck me.

Featuring a Snapdragon 855 processor with a Snapdragon X50 5G modem and antenna modules with built-in RF transceiver, as well as a 5-inch HD screen running Android 9.0 Pie, the Smart Hub can also open applications and Android games natively.

Hub 5G will be available from the second quarter of 2019 at an undisclosed price.
