The rumor about the replacement of Huawei's Android operating system came days after Huawei was banned from using the technologies of US companies, including Google and Qualcomm.
Admitting that the company wants to stay in the Android family and that the alternative operating system is not what the company wants, Huawei's vice president, Andrew Williamson, said the company was in the process to launch the Ark OS operating system.
Huawei is starting a replacement. It's not something that Huawei wants. We are very happy to be part of the Android family, but Hongmeng is testing, mainly in China.
The vice president also revealed that Huawei filed trademarks worldwide to protect the name and use of its operating system (via Pocketnow).
What do you think about Huawei's Ark OS? Do you see a possibility that he meets the same fate as the Windows Phone? Let us know in the comments below.
