An 80-year-old man from Florida took matters into his own hands when a huge alligator came into his garden on Tuesday afternoon.

Ed Chapman of Miami-Dade County attempted to seize the gator himself before calling on the Florida Wildlife and Wildlife Conservation Commission and Commission, local newspaper 7News reported.

"This thing has tugged me everywhere," he said at the exit. "Moved me, writhing and pounding me throughout the property."

Chapman used his hoop and passed it around the gator's neck, but the gator objected.

"He crushed me with his tail and knocked me out of his legs," he said.

"Then he put his fore legs in the reeds, then we went to the end and he had his face in the water," he said.

"In the meantime, I called 911," he added. "I just need help, I have it, but I need help, I can not get it alone."

According to 7News, officials responded within 30 minutes of his call and no one was injured.

Part of the tail of the alligators had been cut in nature, officials said at the exit. If the gator had all his tail, it would have been 8 feet long.

Chapman, who breeds wolves and keeps about 60 poisonous snakes for venom research purposes, was not particularly baffled, according to 7News.

"I have been in this kind of things for a long time," he said.
