Hulu removes support for Google's Google Daydream VR platform

Variety reported the change and noted that Hulu was one of Daydream's launch partners. Users can view the entire catalog of Hulu, as well as a selection of 360-degree content. But it is not surprising that Hulu abandoned Daydream's support. As Variety points out, HBO has removed Google Daydream's HBO Now and HBO Go VR apps, and even Google has shut down the release of Google Play Movies and TV for the platform.

Daydream was launched in 2016, but it failed. With these partners abandoning all support and no new partners, the future of the VR platform is uncertain. Google is away from virtual reality to move to augmented reality. She recently closed her Spotlight Stories VR studio and her Jump VR platform. To top it all off, the Hulu VR app is still available on other VR headsets including the PlayStation VR, the Oculus Go, the Samsung Gear VR and the Oculus Rift.
