The Marvel movies gave us a lot of things fans probably thought they’d never see on the big screen, like Thanos wiping out half his life or a Civil War version of superheroes that makes sense, but one thing it doesn’t. hasn’t revealed Marvel’s time-honored tradition of watching unnamed AIM minions in their full beekeeper costumes getting mowed for no reason. Finally, however, Hulu and Patton Oswalt are here to fill that void with MODOK, a new animated series about Marvel’s most famous metallic organism, designed purely to kill. Confuses? Well, this trailer describes it pretty clearly, right down to Oswalt’s MODOK quizzing a poor SHIELD agent (oh my God, those acronyms!) About what his name stands for.
The description on the trailer’s YouTube page mentions that MODOK has been ousted as AIM leader and how he will have to grapple with his “ruined marriage”, so there is certainly going to be more going on here than Oswalt slaughtering his own morons and Nick Fury’s morons. MODOK premieres on May 21.
