The National Hurricane Center announced Sunday night that tropical storm Humberto had strengthened as it moved away from the Bahamas and became a hurricane.
The storm is off Florida and travels northeast at 3 mph. Maximum sustained winds – from 23h Sunday EH: 75 mph.
Meteorologists predicted that the storm would gain strength, but it should not touch the ground. The storm should head east and head for the sea.
Its swell could still touch the shores of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina in the coming days.
