Hunt's tomato paste is recalled in relation to mold

A line of tomato paste Hunt's was removed from the shelves after the company had received complaints from consumers regarding the presence of mold in the product. Conagra Brands, Inc., said damage to 6-ounce tin cans of Hunt's Salt-Free Tomato Paste, added after canning, may be responsible for the presence of mold.

As a result, the company issued a reminder regarding products distributed for sale throughout the country. The product has an expiry date of October 16, 2020 and a UPC of 00-0-27000-38807-5. According to the recall posted on the FDA website, no other Hunt's or Conagra Brands product is affected by the recall.

Consumers are encouraged to discard the affected products or return them to the store for a refund. The notice did not specify whether there had been any adverse effects related to the recall, but asked the clients, having further questions, to call the care team at the customers at 1-888-280-0301.
