On May 11, 2019, Jarrett Hurd, the 154-pound unified world champion "Swift", put his titles on the line against top-seeded Julian "J-Rock" Williams. The fight was broadcast live on FOX from the EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia, as part of the Premier Boxing Champions series.
As expected, Hurd came out slowly, taking his time to adapt to Williams, who wasted no time in getting to work and making difficult shots, which Hurd took easily.
In the second round, Williams landed with a bullet in the temple that temporarily sent Hurd to the canvas.
Hurd began to raise the temperature around the middle of the round, but Williams's attack continued.
As the fight progressed, Hurd became clearly exhausted while Williams seemed relaxed.
In the end, the judges awarded Williams a unanimous victory (116-111, 115-112, 115-112). Williams is now the IBF and WBA world super middleweight champion and his record improves to 27-1-1 (16 KO's).
