Super light drifter Developer Heart Machine to release next game, 3D action platformer Solar ash, on October 26, publisher Annapurna Interactive announced Thursday. Solar ash is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC through the Epic Games Store.
Heart Machine unveiled for the first time Solar ash in 2019 (as Realm of Solar Ash). Players take on the role of Rei, a Voidrunner who will travel through a colorful and stylized world as she fights to save her planet from the Ultravoid. The developer promises smooth controls, with rail-grinding, grappling and cloud surfing.
“Solar ash is Heart Machine’s vision for the adventure platformer, ”game designer Alx Preston said of Solar ash earlier this year. “The giant spaces, the feel of movement, the flow of combat, and the high-stakes battles atop huge beasts come together to bring players something that we think is incredibly unique and, more importantly, fun.”
In our developer review Super light drifter, we praised the action game from top to bottom for its combination of story and gameplay: “It replaces traditional narrative structures with moods, but punctuates those contemplative and calm moments with constant scenes of lightning-fast action and perfect.
