Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is officially the best-selling Musou game of all time

Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity had a very good launch for the most part. While sales of Koei Tecmo’s hack-and-slash series are generally not brilliant, his status as Breath of the wild prequel unquestionably raised it.

Less than a week after its launch, Age Of Calamity had already sold an impressive 3 million units in one week. Described in his latest financial report, Koei Tecmo has now revealed that he shipped 3.5 million units worldwide, as of the end of December.

This makes it the bestseller Musou game of all time, but it doesn’t look set to become one of Nintendo’s lingering titles, like Breath of the Wild. It is clear that sales drop quite significantly after this initial launch period.

Moving away from Age of Calamity, Koei Tecmo has also confirmed the sales figures for additional games. While none of them came close to their latest Musou game, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends and the Secret Fairy had reached 220,000 units in Asia, while Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV’s the reissue came to a respectable 100,000 units.
