Hyundai Veloster N spied by fast-change dual-clutch transmission

The rumors of March 2018 that the Hyundai Veloster N would offer a dual-clutch automatic transmission were right.

The Veloster N was spied on video during an automatic race around the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. YouTuber Carspotter Jeroen posted a video of the Veloster N trials on the German circuit and it is clear that there is a bolted automatic transmission to the 2.0-liter turbo-4 engine that produces 275 horsepower. What will not change are the drive wheels. look for the DCT to always send power to the front wheels exclusively. It is likely that the transmission will be a 7-speed unit offered with the softer Hyundai Veloster Turbo, which produces 201 hp.

Adapting the Veloster N to a DCT can be a sales game. In March 2018, a Hyundai official said his sales potential was limited only by a manual transmission car. The Veloster N is the first time Hyundai has attacked a high-performance vehicle via its new sub-brand N. The man who was previously behind BMW's M division participated in its creation. An optional N Performance Package boosts power to 275 hp for another $ 2,100. It is unclear exactly how a DCT will drive up the price, but Hyundai clearly sees the selling potential of adding automatic to its preferred trap.
