Gary LeVox is still upset over the separation from Rascal Flatts.

The country trio, consisting of LeVox, Joe Don Rooney and Jay DeMarcus, are known for their chart-topping hits like “Bless the Broken Road”, “My Wish” and “What Hurts the Most”. But things got tough in 2020 when the three appeared on “CBS This Morning” to announce they were going on a farewell tour called “Rascal Flatts Farewell: Life Is A Highway Tour”.

The tour never started due to the coronavirus pandemic. Rooney also quit unexpectedly, LeVox said.

Reflecting on the band’s demise for an interview with People this week, LeVox admitted that he “was never okay with how it ended.”

“I was not happy that Joe Don quit,” he revealed, adding that his bandmate’s departure “came out of nowhere.”

“It was like, ‘Let me try to figure this out.’ And then I certainly didn’t agree with the pandemic, which canceled everything. I hate how it ended. I hate that we couldn’t do this farewell tour. I hate how it ended. do not support the fact that we just feel like there is no closure with something we have been so blessed with. It will always be in my heart. “

Since the breakup, LeVox began working on his solo career and released singles, including “The Distance” and “Working on Sunday”. He confirmed that he “liked it” and said he was inspired by his faith.

“I know that’s what he called me to do. I’m just going to stay on my way. I know what I’m supposed to do and I love it. There is no better feeling than to make people feel something by something that you did, ”he said.

While the group is history, a look at Rascal Flatts verified Instagram account shows that they are still updating their fans with milestones. On September 30, the account reposted DeMarcus’ mention of the 17th anniversary album “Feels Like Today”.

“This week marks the 17th anniversary of this album’s release ?! It doesn’t feel like it was that long ago… Feels like today,” DeMarcus wrote.

DeMarcus has also released his own music and continues to run Red Street Records. Rooney, meanwhile, has worked on collaborations with emerging artists. Most recently, it became known that he had been arrested for drunk driving in Nashville.

LeVox said he did not speak to Rooney after his arrest in September, but was heartbroken by the news.

“But you know what? I think God gets your attention in different ways. I just wish him the best, and I hope he gets everything he needs to be okay and take care of all the problems he needs. “There is power in prayer,” LeVox said.

Rooney would not have suffered any injuries.

LeVox is going on tour this month, with its first stop on October 14 in Evansville, Indiana.
