Jenna Ryan, a Texas real estate broker who took a private jet to Washington to join the attack on the U.S. Capitol, pleaded with Donald Trump to forgive her after his arrest by federal officials.
After going to the FBI on Friday, Ryan said, “We all deserve a pardon.”
“I risk jail time,” she told CBS11 from her home. “I think I don’t deserve this.”
Turning to look at the camera, she said, “I would ask the President of the United States to give me a grace.”
Trump was impeached on Wednesday for instigating the Jan.6 attack that left five people dead, including a police officer, and sent lawmakers to flee for their lives.
Ryan said she had “shown my patriotism,” adding, “I listen to my president who told me to go to Capitol Hill.”
Ryan has left a wealth of information online. Court documents show she posted a photo of herself boarding a private jet in Washington DC the day before the riot, then posing on the steps of the Capitol and next to a smashed window when the pro-Trump crowd broke in.
“We’re going to come down and storm the Capitol,” Ryan said in a video posted to Facebook. “They’re out there right now and that’s why we’ve come and that’s what we’re going to do. So wish me luck.
During a live Facebook video of the scene of the raid, Ryan said, “We’re fucking going to come back here. Life or death, it doesn’t matter. Here we go.”
She climbed the Capitol steps, then promoted her real estate business on camera: “You all know who to hire for your real estate agent. Jenna Ryan for your real estate agent. “
Ryan later posted on Twitter: “We just stormed the capital [sic]. It was one of the best days of my life.
Trump has used the presidential pardon power extensively for the benefit of political allies. Ryan is the last person to apologize for the attack on the Capitol.
An attorney for Jacob Chansley, an Arizona man who wore horns, animal skin and makeup while carrying a spear and entering the Senate Chamber, said Trump should do “the honorable thing and forgive those of his peaceful supporters who accepted the President’s invitation ”.
Albert Watkins said his client had no criminal history and was an “active practitioner of yoga.” He also mentioned Chansley’s diet, which caused him to reject non-organic meals in Federal custody.
Chansley faces six federal charges. On Friday, a judge ordered his detention without bail.
