“I wanted to kill myself”

The Material Girl herself, Madonna, has appeared on Tonight’s Show with Jimmy Fallon, Thusday. While she was there to promote her new documentary film Madame X, it was actually a movie she never appeared in that caught everyone’s attention.

Madonna was asked by Fallon about some of the movie roles she reportedly turned down, such as Catwoman in Batman Returns and Nomi Malone in Showgirls. While she agreed to transmit Showgirls, she regretted giving up the role of Catwoman, which she described as “fierce”.

Although Madonna surprised everyone when she revealed, “I also turned down the role in The matrix. Can you believe this? I wanted to kill myself.

She didn’t specify which character, but Trinity was the only female lead. It was ultimately played by the masterful Carrie-Anne Moss.

The film kicked off a hit trilogy that grossed over $ 1.6 billion worldwide. This remains one of Madonna’s few regrets.

“It’s like one of the best movies ever made,” Madonna said. “A tiny part of me just regrets this time in my life.”

Tonight’s Show with Jimmy Fallon aired weekday evenings at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
