Rebel Wilson has revealed that she was previously kidnapped at gunpoint while on vacation in Africa.
She said that the “petrifying” night came in the “Mozambique countryside” and that she left her and her group to fear for their lives.
“We were in that cattle truck and these men came in another truck with a lot of guns,” the Australian actress recalled in the Sky One series “Straight Talking” (via Daily Mail). “[They pulled up beside us] with the big guns and they were like, ‘Yeah, you got to get off your truck.’ “
The “Pitch Perfect” star, who did not specify when the incident occurred, said his group obeyed orders and were taken to a “house in the middle of nowhere”. Despite her fear, Wilson said she was able to regain her composure.
“I felt very good in the crisis,” she recalls. “I was like a team leader.”
“They made us sit down and I said, ‘Everyone tie their arms’, because I was petrified in the night that they might want to take one of the girls or something. like, ”she explained.
Wilson said the kidnappers freed the group in the morning and then fled to the South African border. Although they were never explained why they were taken, Wilson said she believed it was because of the smuggling.
“I think maybe these guys, maybe, used us to smuggle illegal things through the back of the truck,” she theorized.
