The 62-year-old shared a photo of his stepfather Steve Austin in hospital as a stark reminder of the toll from the deadly virus.

Austin has since been released from the hospital and Ice-T has shared his story to remind fans of the dire consequences of the illness.
However, he was criticized by some who questioned why he involved his stepfather.
“ If I’m willing to use a family member that I love, as an example of someone nearing death from a virus that I guess you think is wrong … and I try to warn people … So that must be serious for me. Brandon, you have a lot of nerves … ”he tweeted Sunday to a Twitter user.

Ice-T has been outspoken about her father’s battle with the disease after initially avoiding face masks, which are used to slow the spread of the disease.

Austin managed to endure it at home for nine days, but eventually went to the hospital after developing pneumonia in both longs.
Although he was finally allowed to return home after a month under the care of doctors, he still has an uphill battle.
