MURFREESBORO, Tennessee (AP) – A national beverage company is moving its California headquarters to Tennessee.
Governor Bill Lee and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe announced Wednesday that ICEE would be headquartered in La Vergne, Tennessee. The project is expected to create 200 jobs in the region over the next five years.
Lee said that all children and parents in America urgently needed an ICEE, adding that he was excited at the idea that the "iconic" company is traveling to Tennessee.
ICEE, which was discovered in 1967, has been headquartered in Ontario, California for almost 30 years. The company is known for selling iced drinks with straws and domed lids.
President and CEO Dan Fachner is eager to create new memories in Tennessee.
