LAS VEGAS – The

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino has made the decision to temporarily close

in February 2020.

The property was sold in February 2018 to Virgin Hotels.

Initially, it was planned to gradually renovate the property over a period of eight months, which was closed for four months only. Now it will be completely closed during renovations.

The hotel and casino are expected to reopen no later than January 2021. However, this could be done by October 2020.

The following statement was provided by JC Hospitality President and CEO, Richard "Boz" Bozworth

"We determined that a gradual closure of four months, followed by a total closure of four months, was not effective due to a construction process, and that we could not not provide the hotel service experience that our clients deserve. Therefore, a closure of about eight months would be more effective and would ensure a timely opening by January 2021. We may be ready in October, but construction is an imperfect process. Until early February 2020, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas continues to operate. Virgin Hotels Las Vegas promises to be one of the most exciting, dynamic and long-awaited properties in Las Vegas for years. "

The Hard Rock Hotel is not only an iconic place in Nevada. The hotel has also appeared in pop culture.

The hotel was featured in the movie "Con Air" when the fleeing plane crashed against the Fender Stratocaster guitar of the hotel. It is also seen in the episodes of "Entourage" and "The O.C."
