After historic flooding and tornadoes ravaged the northeast last night, what remains of Ida is crossing New England on Thursday and severe flooding and risk are coming to an end.

Showers and thunderstorms will move through parts of the Upper Midwestern and Plains States.
Some areas of flash floods will be possible as well as some of these storms reaching severe limits.
The threat of heavy rains will shift to the Mid-Mississippi Valley and central United States on Friday.
Showers and thunderstorms will also threaten parts of the Southern Rockies and the High Plains.
Air quality alerts are still ongoing for the Northwest and California due to smoke from the wildfires.

Heat advisories remain in effect for parts of the southern and lower Mississippi Valley where crews and residents have been affected by Ida.
