If you log into the cute frog mascot from Google that accompanies the search results for the weather in the Google app on Android, you might see that the frog is wearing a mask, as was first observed by some Reddit users over the weekend (via 9to5Google).
The frog still does things it did before wearing a mask, like hanging clothes, walking in a field, or riding a bicycle, but now it could also wear one of the many different masks, as discovered Edge staff members and seen in screenshots on Reddit and 9to5Google.
However, you might not see the mask on the frog yet – the frog was not wearing one for some users on Reddit this weekend. Google tells The edge the mask on the frog will be rolled out worldwide by the end of today for Android users.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends wearing a mask in public places to help reduce the spread of COVID-19, and putting a mask on the frog appears to be a Google effort to encourage people to wear face masks. ‘outside. (There is no evidence that frogs can spread COVID-19, at least to my knowledge, so I guess these images are meant for humans.)
