If you are still using a Microsoft Band, you may be eligible for a refund.

If you're still using the Microsoft Band for all your smart watch, fitness tracking, and portable clothing needs, your loyalty can pay off.

Although Microsoft stopped the band in 2016, the online application services were maintained so that owners could continue to use the devices as they wished. On Friday, however, the company announced that all band applications and services would end on May 31.

In an interesting move, however, Microsoft allows dedicated people who have continued to use the group after the interruption of its use to request refunds on the hardware.

In an on-premise release, Microsoft announced "End of Microsoft Health Dashboard Application and Service Support".

The company then explained that the tape applications would be removed from the Microsoft Store, Google Play and iOS App Store, meaning that the phone apps would stop working after May 31 and all server-side data would be deleted.

That's where it gets interesting: Microsoft also noted that if you have a Band 1 or Band 2 device and that you have completed the synchronization of the laptop data on the health dashboard anytime between December 1, 2018 and on March 1, 2019, you can claim a refund.

If you are not an active user but you have a band that is still covered by the limited warranty, you may also be eligible to receive the $ 79.99 Band 1 Rebate or the Band 2 Rebate. $ 175.00.

Eligible users would receive an email with additional instructions and will have to claim the money by August 30, 2019.

In this article, Microsoft also explained how users can retrieve or delete their data from the service before it closes, and confirmed that, even if the service and applications are not available, devices can still be used for the following actions :

• Recording and tracking daily health information (not, heart rate, basic workouts)

• Recording of activity data (races, bike rides, hikes, etc.)

• Sleep monitoring

• Alarm setting

The Post also notes that resetting the device after the shutdown on May 31 will render it unusable.
