(KWWL) – Hy-Vee will begin offering rapid COVID-19 antibody tests at select pharmacies next week.
From Monday, January 18, you can find out if you have been infected with COVID-19 in the past and are not currently experiencing any symptoms.
Anyone wishing to take the test must first register for hy-vee.com/covidtesting and select “antibody test”. From there, you can schedule a test time and location and receive a test voucher. Children six years of age or older may be tested if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Results are expected the same day as soon as 15 minutes after the end of the test. The results will be emailed to the patient the same day.
Antibody tests cost $ 25 and patients can pay at the pharmacy.
An antibody test can show if a patient has been infected with COVID-19 in the past, but does not show if a patient has a current infection. It may take 1 to 3 weeks after infection for the body to make antibodies.
Hy-Vee also offers rapid antigen testing at some pharmacies and free lab tests.
