Ikea creates PS5 and Xbox Series X console simulations to help furniture buyers

When the PS5 and Xbox Series X were unveiled last year, players were blown away by their size. Comparing the Sony console to household items has become a social media trend, while CNET’s Dan Ackerman brought life-size models in her local Ikea to see how they fit into various cabinets ahead of their November launch.

The Swedish furniture seller understood the challenges people face with next-gen consoles and created their own simulated console units so you can see how they fit into various cabinets, as one user noted. from Reddit.

Sony’s huge PS5 is laughed at, but these fake consoles would be very useful when choosing cabinets. The PS5 in particular is so tall – just over 15 inches tall – that you’ll have to choose wisely.

The company confirmed to CNET that the photos were taken at its Schaumburg, Ill., Store.

“The store team saw the need to demonstrate how the latest generation of gaming consoles can fit into IKEA storage units, and three of our colleagues have come together to bring fake consoles to life,” said a spokesperson in a press release sent by email.
