Billie Eilish says she has a “terrible relationship” with her body in a new interview with the Guardian.
The singer – who made waves in May for swapping her signature oversized outfits for pin-up-style lingerie on the cover of British Vogue – spoke of “unattainable bodily standards” and her own efforts to “disassociate” herself from her feelings about her body when it occurs.
“When I’m on stage, I have to dissociate myself from the ideas I have about my body,” explained the 19-year-old pop star. “Mainly because I’m wearing clothes that are bigger and easier to move around without showing everything – they can be really unflattering. In the photos, it looks like I don’t even know what. I’m completely separating the two.
