Images of an early version of Arkane Austin’s Redfall have leaked online.

The images appeared via an anonymous post from Imgur – now deleted – and are believed to be from a playtest. But, as you might expect, the internet has retrieved the images and they are widely shared to social media.

Redfall was announced in June as an Xbox Series X and S and PC game, with no mention of Xbox One. As a Bethesda-owned title, it will launch on Xbox Game Pass on the first day of summer 2022.

The screenshots give us a better idea of how Redfall works, with weapons of varying quality levels up for grabs. The screenshots show the game being played in both first and third person. It looks like a relatively standard hero looter shooter fare. It should be noted that the images show a current version of the game which is incomplete. There is no indication that the images reflect the final quality of the game.

Still, Bethesda will be less than impressed with the leak, and the fact that people are already judging the game based on these images.

The official description provides a little more detail on the substantive tradition. “The quaint island town of Redfall, Massachusetts is under siege by a legion of vampires who have blocked the sun and cut off the island from the outside world,” the description reads.

“Trapped with a handful of survivors against evil enemies threatening to bleed the city dry, choose your hero from a diverse roster, band together with others to create the perfect team of vampire slayers.”
