With NBA 2K22 With the September 10 release date fast approaching, 2K has shared a first look at the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S version of the game. The publisher calls it a gameplay reveal, but it’s mostly a showcase of the game. what developer Visual Concepts has managed to do with new hardware from Sony and Microsoft. Fortunately, the studio has also released a new Courtside Report that details some of the gameplay improvements players can expect when they pick the game up next month.

For starters, Visual Concepts says it has completely rebuilt the shooting competition and blocking systems, as well as making a significant update to how the game handles defensive rotations. When it comes to moving a player around the field, the studio promises tighter controls that will allow you to creatively create new combos.

But some of the biggest changes seem to be in the way the game handles shooting. NBA 2K22 will feature a new shot counter that will dynamically change based on the abilities of the player you are controlling and whether their shot is challenged. According to Visual Concepts, NBA 2K22 will put more emphasis on Shot IQ. You’ll be more successful if you take the time to find an open teammate and snap a smart photo. For players who like to drive to the basket, there’s a new dunk style creator that will let you customize their dunk repertoire.

Apart from these improvements, fans of women’s basketball can expect a much improved WNBA mode. All in all, it looks like NBA 2K’s second PS5 and Xbox Series X release should be good.
