SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WTHR) – After an exciting first day of qualifying on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, fans are staring at the sky as they wait for the start of the second day.

The last firing line is scheduled to start at 12:15, with the Fast 9 at 13:15. and an afternoon workout, but a meteorological emergency plan is in place.

IMS President Doug Boles said his main priority was to integrate the home stretch. They will push it back as long as necessary in order to integrate it. The track dryers will be ready to run as soon as possible, but they need a window of time to do it.
